SIMON MEHEGAN SIGNS AS UNDER 19 MEN COACH

Mooroolbark Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Simon Mehegan as coach of our Under 19 Men’s program.

Simon brings an incredible depth of experience to the Mustangs, with a lifelong connection to local football. A product of The Basin Football Club, he played over 250 junior and senior games and featured in two senior Grand Finals, including a premiership in 1994. His contribution to the game has been recognised with Life Memberships at both The Basin Football Club and Lysterfield Junior Football Club.

Beginning his coaching journey in 1991, Simon has spent more than 30 years developing players across all levels of the game. His experience spans every junior boys age group, senior football, junior girls programs and senior women’s teams across The Basin, South Belgrave and Lysterfield.

Across his coaching career, Simon has led sides in over 300 games and coached in eight Grand Finals, with five premierships to his name.

Simon’s passion for development and proven track record make him a valuable addition to our club as we continue to build a strong future for our Under 19 program. He steps into the role with a clear focus on rebuilding and strengthening the Under 19 program. With his extensive background in player development and proven ability to build competitive, connected teams, he is ideally placed to guide the next generation of Mustangs. His experience, leadership and commitment to junior pathways make him the right person to drive this program forward and create a strong foundation for the future.
