To our Players, Members and Families,
Our community is confronting an unprecedented public health crisis that is changing the way we live our lives. At 10:00am today, the Eastern Football Netball League suspended all football and netball competitions – including training - until May 31st 2020.
For all of us at the Mooroolbark Football Club, you and you family’s health and safety is our main concern. Please take all precautions necessary to protect yourself, and in doing so, the broader public.
This is a challenge for our football club and indeed the EFNL league itself. The future remains unsure and season 2020 is a big unknown. We have some big decisions to make as a committee when we know more but with the strengths of our players members and juniors, I have full faith we will come out the other side bigger and stronger as a club.
The club will remain closed from this time until we’re told otherwise. Our ‘Bring a Slab’ day is obviously postponed, along with our moonlight cinema, player auction and numerous other functions are also postponed. We will advise when these will go ahead – and be assured, they will.
Over the next two weeks you’ll be seeing a number of social media posts promoting our unbelievable sponsors. They do so much for us, and it’s times like these that local businesses need us most. Please make an effort to use them as they’ve looked after us and we can look after them when they need it most.
We’ll do our best to keep you informed as much as possible as soon as we hear from the EFNL. We know as players, supporters and parents there are so many questions everyone will have. Please give us the time to take everything on board.
We have so many questions ourselves and over the next few weeks we’ll do our best as a committee to answer them and help everyone involved with the club.
We can’t wait for the day we walk back to The Heights or Kiloran and see the green and gold out there again.
Until then, please listen to orders of the people that know best and look after family and friends.
Stay safe, and Go Barkers.
