I want to wish all our members, players, parents and families a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope everyone is enjoying their break and looking forward to a big 2019 for the Mooroolbark Football Club. I want to thank Scott Hassan and the 2018 committee for all their work over the last few years at the helm.
I feel privileged to be taking on the role of president at the club that holds such a big place in my heart and where I have spent so many years since I was a junior Mustangs player.
We’re starting a little later this year but looking forward to getting back from holidays and getting into the swing of things. We’ll be having our first committee meeting in the third week of January and locking in some important dates to start the season.
I’d like to thank Nick Maxwell, Tim Plant and Neil Wells for jumping on board and getting involved and putting in their time to help our club go on.
The club is in a great position - our reserves claimed the premiership and while it was disappointing 2018 on the field for our senior side, we feel it could be one step backwards and two steps forward as a playing group. The Under 17s moving up to the 19s age group also won the flag. With the majority of the playing list under 24 years of age, it’s time to take the next step under our new coach Bret Lavars.
If you need anything, please don’t hesitate to give me a call about any matters small or large. If we haven’t met and you see us around the club please come up and say hello.
We’ll be ramping up our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts so stay tuned on here for all things Mustangs in 2019!
Cheers, Scott Dimitriou
